24-Fret, Hardtail, HH, Strat-Style Guitars...

With it being Christmas time and all... I feel like buying myself a lil' somethin'. I know there are a lot of guitars that have those specs, but I'd love to know what makes you'd reccommend. I'm looking for something sub $600. Just something that feels sturdy. I plan to upgrade it.

I have a few models that LOOK pretty good, without actually playing them (both on the cheaper side.) LTD H-51 and a few different Schecters, including the C-1 and C-6 series.

Ibanez RG6003FM. It's a MF/GC exclusive and it is basically an RG421 with a flame maple top (I believe it's a photo flame as I can't find the seam)

I got one a couple months ago and I'm loving it.

Another vote for ibanez. The rg6003 skyydogg mentioned is great, ive played several of them

I have an RG2Ex1
These can be found used around $150 or less
Basswood body Wizard 2 neck
The 321 and 421 both have mahogany bodies

Still gonna wanna change pickups from stock

I changed mine to jb/jazz

I'm not sure if Ibanez would be the right choice for me. I have an RG350DX, but I never liked the way the neck feels. My hands aren't big by any means, but the Wizard neck always felt way too small. I like bigger, more Fender-feeling necks. If only Fenders had 24-fret models.

Not all ibanez models have thin necks.

Maybe one of those old showmasters? 24 fret, HH, neck through and i think they have a strat style headstock.

Those look pretty cool, like a budget Prestige model. How's the neck on it?

I have a Schecter Hellraiser Hybrid (slimmer neck) that is just awesome.

I really like it. It's a wizard 3. Wide like a fender, flatter radius and the profile is kind of like a fender that was flattened out. It's kind of a D shape but the round parts feel wide like a fender. Hard to describe. Best way I can say it is that it's fender but flattened on the backside.

Does that make sense?

The regular schecter necks have some pretty good meat on them. Pretty solid guitars as well. The lower range ones are just as good as the higher priced stuff. I would suggest a c-1 stealth.

I had a revenger the build quality was top notch just the crappy tremolo and machine heads let it down.

I tried out a PRS SE Standard 24 today at my local music store. Awesome instrument. I think that might be the one.
