Does and body know what replacing the 250 k tone pots with 150 k tone pots in a strat copy will do to its overall sound?

Thanks.

Hey Tim; It would be like turning the volume and the tone down at the same time. You're going to lose some output, and some high-end.

It'ld be hard to say exactly how much, but you could try it and see. It'll probably be too much, however.

Thanks Artie,

I am looking for an easier way to melo out my strat copy before purchasing a new pup. The highs are just to predominate. I have been reading on this forum about changing the pot and/or cap to alter the tone. My Peavey Envoy 110 just can't seem to tone down the treble.

I am presently waiting for a new Vox AD15VT to be delivered, so I am short on cash right now.

Boy Tim; that's odd. That seems like drastic measures to take to tone down the highs. I wonder what else might be going on?

Hopefully someone else will jump in here, with some suggestions. ;)
