I'm playing through a Marshall JTM60 which is great but for one factor; bottom end. For ages I've thought about getting a 2x12 extension cab until I thought why not get another amp? So my first question is this.
Should I get a 2x12 cab or a 2x12 combo?
Potentially that leads to another question; which amp? I want something with crystal clean sounds. Not bothered about distortion as my Marshall sounds awesome plus I'm running three distortion O/D boxes that I'm happy with. I'd like to know what it would sound like with the second amp on clean and my Marshall dirty as well. I bet that would be cool. Isn't that what the Voodoo Lab Sparkle Drive does?
I don't think I'd need another valve amp either. Maybe a valve pre-amp section. So my second question is this;
What cheapish ($500) solid state basic amp with a 2x12 speaker configuration with awesome clean sounds should I get? When I say basic I mean no DFX or that other stuff that comes with the higher end solid state stuff.
Thanks for reading,
Ben
