3 Humbucker wiring

Hi,

Can anybody advise best way of re-wiring my Epiphpone Les Paul Custom (SG shape). I have fitted three SD Humbuckers; a Jazz at the neck, Stag Mag in the middle and a JB at the bridge. I have fitted a coil tap switch for the Stag Mag, a volume control for each pickup and one tone control plus standard three way switch. So far every thing works except the volume control on the middle pickup. Does anybody know where I can get a wiring diagram for this setup?

Many thanks,

Mick :smack:

Hey Mick, welcome to the forum. www.guitarelectronics.com has a good selection of diagrams, you should be able to find one that will help you figure out why the middle pickup isn't working. I could be mistaken, but I believe a three humbucker setup usually requires a 5 way switch, unless the only options you want are neck, middle, and bridge. If you want to switch on two humbuckers at once, you'll need a 5 way switch.

Thanks Ryan.

I'm not too worried about combining humbuckers. All was ok until I fitted the coil tap switch. If I have the Middle pickup tapped then switch to another pickup I still get tapped middle. If the middle is on full bucker I can swich between pickups without a problem. Also, the volume control on the mid pickup is ineffective. It's probably something straightforward but I haven't been able to find a definative wiring diagram (I did look on guitar electronics site). I lack the neccesary skill to work it out logically.

Cheers,

Mick

I'm assuming you've checked out the diagrams on the main Duncan page? It sounds like there's just something small that's causing the problem with the middle volume. I would double check your coil split wiring.
