3 pup les paul switch

Re: 3 pup les paul switch

That switch will just give you bridge, neck and bridge/middle if I recall correctly. You're better off using a regular 2-pup toggle and then wiring the middle pickup in with a push/pull pot so you can have all 7 pickup combinations.

Re: 3 pup les paul switch

I would consider the push/pull fix if I were doing this for me, but I'm trying to do this specific wiring for a friend.

Swap a tone for a volume, wire the rest to a master tone. You can fade in the middle at will....

That's how the Frampton Siggie is wired, and that's how I would do it if I had a three pickup Custom. If the pickups were four-conductor, I would use push-pull pots to split the coils and add even more versatility.

Re: 3 pup les paul switch

I do appreciate all the knowledgeable replies. That's what I love about these forums. But I would really like to know how to wire that switch specifically. thanks guys

Re: 3 pup les paul switch

Its like this:

Gibby_3pup_switch.png

The terminals in the back will be the output. (Blue wire.)

The green wire will be "on" in position A only.
The violet wire will be "on" in position B and C.
The red wire will be "on" in position A and B.

Another way to say this, is:

A. red and green
B. red and violet
C. Violet only.

Hope that helps.
