3-way Mustang-style swtich as pickup selector

I looked everywhere for a 3-way slide switch that would fit the 2-way mount for my Fender Jaguar, and I found one! It fits perfectly!

I felt like I was doing my research. I felt I needed a Mustang-style 3-way on-on-on switch that would fit. The switch I got is 2P3T switch, and it has 8 prongs, just like the Mustang switch.

What I want to do:
Select the North coil, the South coil, or both together (like a Screen Shot 2016-03-16 at 9.00.35 PM.pngSwitch2P3TSheet.pngGibson-style 3-way toggle would do).
(I have another switch to activate or deactivate the humbucker).

I showed it to my tech who is wiring the guitar, and he said that the switch would not work. I asked "WHY?" (not to him, but to God, because I'm ignorant when it comes to electronics). He said, "because electronics."
But I think he might be wrong! But I know nothing about electronics!

When I bought the switch, it came with attached wiring diagram.

Is my tech correct? Or will this switch work the way I want it to? -- I can take more pictures if needed.

This is so simple, it's stupid. Get a new guitar "tech".

Edit: I'll draw it up specific to your switch tomorrow. It's late, and I've only had one beer. :D

P.S. I have the "stud" and "screw" sequence backwards. It will be screw/middle/stud.

P.S.S. The sequence of modes can be in any order: stud/screw/parallel, screw/series/stud, series/stud/parallel. The sky's the limit. Let me know the exact sequence and modality that you desire, and I'll give you the full monty tomorrow. (By "monty", I mean diagram.) ;)
