Has anyone seen or ordered a 4 Conductor Antiquity Humbucker?

Also, are the Antiquities sold as a neck model and bridge model?

Re: 4 Conductor Antiquity Humbucker

Sorry for the super open ended question, you just see a plethora of SD CS stuff on reverb, eBay, music zoo and some other sites, but I've never seen a 4-conductor antiquity. I have no doubt the CS can do it, but I've never seen a "stock" one.

edit: No, I haven't seen a "stock" 4 conductor antiquity.

The neck pickup would be interesting to hear split. I love the antiquity neck humbucker.

Double Edit: Lol. I keep editing this.

yes, antiquity humbuckers come in neck and bridge models. The neck sounds perfect to me stock (7.4k)

The bridge in my experience needs work. It should probably be sold instead with an a4. An UOa5 sounds like an antiquity "plus" to my ears. Great output, nice complex mids, sweet pronounced top end. Mine is wound at 8.5k.

Blueman335 put it best when he said, UOa5 is great for adding body to bridge pickups. Big +1 to that!

actually i love the stock bridge pup but want a little more high end from the neck, i keep meaning to swap an a3 in there but it sounds good enough stock that i havent bothered yet

^^ I'd love to hear your results when you do. It's a tad bit warm, but my guitar compensates well.

Re: 4 Conductor Antiquity Humbucker

Antiquites cannot be sold as 4 conductor humbuckers.

Re: 4 Conductor Antiquity Humbucker

they are supposed to be mostly vintage correct and there was no 4 cond paf is my guess. doesnt mean you couldnt do it yourself

Re: 4 Conductor Antiquity Humbucker

I don't think it's impossible. I think it would just be expensive.

If you called the custom shop and asked for an "antiquity spec" with 4 conductor wiring, you could probably get it. Just call it something else and I think everyone will get along.

Re: 4 Conductor Antiquity Humbucker

So a "Custom Shop 4 Conductor Humbucker wound to Antiquity Specs and aged cosmetics" is allowed, but it arrives in a CS box rather than Antiquity box with signature, etc?

From what I've seen, Antiquity pickups through the custom shop are labeled "A". The ones on eBay or reverb usually have full strength magnets in most cases. I have one of these "A" pickups. I got one on eBay for $80.

I don't see why you wouldn't be able to order it as an "A" humbucker with 4 conductor leads/full strength magnets/aging.

ive got a 9.4k "antiquity" with 4 cond wiring. i dont use the 4 cond but the pup is righteous. cant recalll if it was an aged a2 or full strenth. i know my 10k was full strength a2

Re: 4 Conductor Antiquity Humbucker

I bet you can make a floor shop custom out of this at no extra cost.

Re: 4 Conductor Antiquity Humbucker

Show me any user-opened hummelbucker that had the covers reattached cleanly.
