4 conductor pickups-4 way switch for series/parallel/innercoil/outercoil

Hi everyone! How are you? I wanted to ask for help on how to achieve a Series/Parallel/innercoil/outercoil setup with a 3P4T rotary switch. I have seen this on a youtube video showcasing an instrument, so it’s doable, but couldn’t find any wiring diagrams of it, even asked the builder of the instrument I saw on video with the configuration but no luck...
I could even have it with a 5 position switch that StewMac sells, of someone knows how to donit, having a 5th position on mute, I don’t mind as long as I could have the 4 options I mentioned before. Any help will be very welcome, thanks for your time!

Have you considered a triple shot?

Beig honest I don’t know what a triple shot is, can you please explain? Sorry I am from Costa Rica, excuse my bad english

You can read about the very cool and problem-solving Triple Shot here.

That’s neat! But I have the problem that the pickups set I want to configure this way is for bass

What is the guitar/bass?
What pups are in it?
You want the individual pups to be series/split/parallel? Or both pups to be in series/parallel with each other?
So, exactly what pup arrangement do you want at each of the switch positions?

Re: 4 conductor pickups-4 way switch for series/parallel/innercoil/outercoil

Thanks for the reply. The pickups are for bass, 4 conductor dual coils, I have 3 way switches for series/single/parallel on most of my basses, but I am trying to use this configuration of a 4 or 5 way switch that would let me have series/parallel/single south coil/single north coil.
I know it can be done, because there’s a video with 4 way rotary switch that works, but there’s no wiring diagrams, and I have been trying to figure it out myself but since I often use 3 way on/on/on switches and not these 4 or 5 way I am lost... I have a diagram for a 4 position switch with a different config but still can’t do the reverse engineering to make it work

Re: 4 conductor pickups-4 way switch for series/parallel/innercoil/outercoil

I have done just this, albeit on a guitar.

First, you need 2 poles per humbucker. 2 buckerd = 4 poles.

Secondly, you need to 'translate' the 2 push pull pot prail wiring to the 4 way rotary, not the 4 way tele. This is because the tele switch works totally different from the rotary.

The tele has 1 common lug (per pole) that connects to 1 pole which corresponds with a position. The 4 way rotary is more like a push pull pot, in how it really works.

But maybe that's just how the ones I've got operate.

It’s not clear to me if you are trying to make coils series/parallel or the pickups series/parallel. I’m also not sure what instrument uses a 3P4T. The nearest thing I can think of to what you describe is PRS wiring.
