Dear all,
I've just received some new hb's and I have wired them into my Les Paul. However, in wanting to get them ASAP I went for 4 conductor wiring not single. This seems to have proved to be a problem, as the sound is thin, there is little break up on a crunch setting that normally sounds great through my Les Paul. And when both pickups are selected there is a massive reduction in volume, it virtually cuts out. I know what you're thinking, there out of phase. But I have followed the diagrams and double checked everything. Red and white leads are soldered together and insulated, the two earths, green and bare, are going to the right pots (they are touching each other). The black hot wire is also correctly wired. Before I remove the pickups and check them for damage is there anything in the wiring in of the 4 conductor wires I should check? The schematic is the Gibson standard.
Red and White deinitely go together?!
