5/2 Nashville Studio and Twangbanger Strat combo?

Has anyone tried combining the 5/2 Nashville Studio Strat neck and RWRP middle pickups with a Twangbanger in the bridge? This seems like it should be a good combination, given the lower resonant peak and EQ listed for the 5/2's as compared to SSL-1's or APS-1's. I like the SSL-1/SSL-1/TB combo I have in one Strat, but I'd like something a bit less bright and a bit more chunky to replace the Texas Specials in another Strat. Any comments from 5/2 users would be appreciated. THanks!

i just played an esquire with a 5/2 and it sounded great. its been a while since i tried one. i like the 5/2 much better than the texas specials, a warmer tone with out as much bite. should match up well with the twangbanger in the bridge

Thanks, Jeremy. I actually tried a 5/2 Tele set in an alder/rosewood American Tele and really liked the lead pickup, but the rhythm pickup was pretty dull and lifeless sounding. I exchanged them for a set of Antiquity flatpoles, but I sometimes think about trying the 5/2 Tele lead again. It sounds like the 5/2 Strat neck and middle may work for me. Any other comments from anyone?

I haven't tried this, but I'm considering it. I have an '85 MIJ Strat with the original prototype 5-2s for Strat and I'm thinking of Twangbangin' the bridge position. The only thing holding me back is that they're the prototypes, and I'm kinda sentimental that way.

Well, Evan's comments lead me to believe that I'm on the right track in choosing the Twangbanger over the 5/2 Custom bridge for what I want in this Strat. Any other 5/2 Strat users with comments on their tone?
