5-way in a Telecaster?

The Dali

MeltedClockologist
Hi everyone. I am going to be wiring up my Tele project with a humbucker in the neck ('59) and a standard single-coil in the bridge (Donahue). I want to be able to wire the humbucker to split. I was going to just put a push-pull in to the volume pot, but was thinking that perhaps I could use a 5-way switch to do the same thing. Can I?

Does anyone have a Tele wiring diagram for the H/S setup with a push-pull for the humbucker?

If I can use the 5-way, does anyone have a wiring diagram?

Thanks!

Re: 5-way in a Telecaster?

I believe that if you use the "tapped" wiring diagram as used for
the quarter pound tele bridge pickup on the Duncan site
you will get what you want. just need to "mirror" the wiring
on the 5 way so it applies to the neck humbucker.

And remember to use the taped red and white wires
of the HB where the red wire of the QP would go.

Re: 5-way in a Telecaster?

^The red tapped wire of a qp is a hot, as the white/red wires on the 59 would be grounded to coil tap.

Re: 5-way in a Telecaster?

Download the official Fender Fat Tele schematic. Convert the DiMarzio four colour code in the diagram to the Duncan convention.
