5 way switch HH question

Hello there,

I have an SD Jazz and JB on my Tele, I want to change the wiring to 5 way switch for more sound options. Is there anyone out there knows the options for this HH wiring? Thanks in advance.

options .. look like this one has coil splits but it says that on the pic.. other options? quite a few i can think of. all depends on you imagination,need and skill wiring up a guitar IMO

If by "options" you mean what is each position, then I see:

-Bridge HB
-Bridge HB + Neck HB
-Neck HB
-Bridge Split + Neck Split
-Bridge Split

i agree its easier to do coil splits or other mods with a 4P5T

Why not keeping the 3 way switch and using SD's Triple Shot or putting two push-pull pots to achieve similar options? You can look for "2 P-Rails 1 Volume, 1 Tone, 3 Way 2 push/pulls (option #2)" in the wiring diagram.

About the diagram, if you describe what you want maybe someone can provide a link to SD or any other website with the diagram to do what you are looking for. Chances are there are lots of options that wont match your needs.

That's what I was thinking. Just put 2 push pulls in and do a series/parallel on both pups. That, combined with using tone and volume, would give you more tone options than a 5-way, in my very non-expert opinion. Just my thought.

I wrote a blog about using a Super Switch with 2 HB. I am not sure that is what you want to do, but it is a great versatile option. Keep in mind, that for this to work, you have to flip a magnet on one humbucker.
