500k Vs. 1Meg Ohm Pots

I have a set of Fender Vintage Noiseless Pickups in my Telecaster. It’s a Nashville set. It comes from Fender with 1Meg ohm volume/tone pots. I’m removing the bridge pickup and replacing it with a Duncan Little 59. I have used that pickup before and thought it was too dark with 250k pots. I replaced them with 500k and the pickup really came to life. I’m hoping the same with the 1Meg pots.

Anyone have experience with this? What can I expect from a Little 59 with 1Meg pots?

I typically change the pickup first. Why do the extra work and have the added costs of buying new pots? Give it a shot with the 1Meg pots and if it is too bright try out the 500Ks. You might like the 1 Meg pots better. I have them in my Iceman with a Dimebucker/Jazz combo and they sound fantastic. Not overly bright in any way.

It'll probably sound fine. I prefer 1M pots for humbuckers anyhow. Better sweep on the pots, and always better to have too much treble rather than too little.

Humbuckers over 12K I usually use 1meg pots. The little 59 is a little on the dark side so it should be fine.
