500T or Black Winter for my Gibbo?

BW for certain based on this.
Already went for the 500T, and I'm happy. The 500T also gets pretty Swedish. Dark Tranquillity and Amon Amarth both used it at some point. :)

I'll probably try the BW in there soon as well, tho. I'm all about trying different stuff out.

Alright, back to the drawing board.

500K I found was a bit harsh. I honestly think that's also why I'm not enjoying the SH-6N.

Soooo... there are 300-something-K pots before I go to 250, right?

I say just put the BW in there and keep the pots.
I remember the BW being harsher even, LOL.

Maybe not as bright, but low-end on the BW is leaner/tighter/cleaner, so it comes across as more focused and in-you-face. The BW is SUPER attacky as well.

But honestly, I'm tempted to do that as well.

Part of the reason I wanted to swap the pickups out is vintage output pickups tend to be thinner and more wiry. I wanted the BEEF and power of overwound pickups.

#1 did you say the 500T bottom was kind of loose? Your ears are clogged...

#2 Roll down the tone to 7.2ish to simulate a 250 (sort of)

1. Yeah, compared to the Winter, yeah. Compared to everything else, not really. It's definitely tight. Esepcially now that I'm listening to it and comparing it to what I had before (Fishman Fluence Classics).

2. Don't have a tone knob. That's not Metal. :p
