50th anniversary Nevermind The Bollocks JCM800

Outside of the colors, are these amps sonically different than anything Marshall is making, or is it just a common amp that was let loose in a paint factory?

It is a stock 2203, which is lame. Steve Jones was playing Twins and Music Man 2x12. When his solo album took off in the late 80s he knew he would be doing bigger stages and his amps had miles on them. Billy Duffy from the Cult had his Harry Kolbe modded 800s in storage, collecting dust so he sold them to Jones. These amps do not have the cascading gain and additional filter caps Kolbe typically did as Marshall mods. Marshall missed an opportunity here, they should have included the mods and released a black version like Steve used. Black Kolbe Marshalls would sell.
