Honestly as much as I LOVE a cranked 100 Watt Marshall....uhmmm...I'll pass...for daily usage anyway...

What did you do to make it work? What was the problem?

Don't rush into the pedal shop yet, just try out the knobs and get used to the fact that it's meant to be played with full volume as well, not just distortion! That's what tube amps are like. Maybe an attenuator could suite you better too. A raw sound is better in the band context as well, IMO.

There is absolutely no need for any distortion or overdrive pedal with the 5150, unless you are running just he crunch channel. The lead channel has gobs of gain.

So what was the goof? Please share.

If it was the speaker cable (I hope not), consider yourself that the output transformer didn't fry. Lesson learned if that was the case.

i don´t know , i checked out the Pre and power tubes.. by pressing my thumb against them
i guess the plastic that were protecting the pre tubes .. i think it was forcing them to not stay in their propper PLACE.
so , when i pulled it off.. and let it that way
it has foam there.
it is marked by the top of the pre amp tubes.
thats why i think it was pressing the tubes too much.
