Matt....I think all of the Historic reissues have had the long tenon since the late 80's. I know all of the Standards do, although I admit to not knowing much about Customs....they are not really my thing.

I could ask over at the LPF if you like.

It is the part of the neck that extends into the body of the guitar for mounting purposes.

yes it does, but a regular custom from that year wouldn't. And the long neck tenon started around 94-96 I think, I can't remember.

All historics should have the long tennon. And the historic line didn't come to exist (officially) until the mid 90's.
