Am I crazy for wanting to put a custom hybrid in the bridge and a dimarzio 36th bridge pickup in the neck?

This is for an RG920qm. So coil splitting/parallel tones are important.

I wouldn't do it. DMZ 36th bridge is a good pickup, but (to my ears) slightly congested in its mids because of its hotness. It's not a high output pickup, but to me it's clearly wound for the bridge position to provide extra oomph there. Putting it in the neck would be a huge pile of mids that would probably overpower the medium output Custom Hybrid.

Like how the Duncan 59 bridge is sometimes put in neck position to pair with a high output bridge pickup like a Dimebucker, you could put the DMZ 36th bridge in the neck, but a really high output bridge pickup would be needed for balance.

The RG920qm has direct mount Dimarzio designed pickups, right? So your pickup routes are triangular to match the Dimarzio pickup tabs. Duncan (or any other "normal" pickup with rectangular tabs) pickups aren't going to fit in there without some surgery, either to the pickup routes or pickup tabs.

To avoid that, if I were in your situation, I would stay within DMZ family. Super Distortion is probably the lowest output DMZ I would consider to pair in the bridge with a 36th bridge in neck position. DMZ has lots of high output options from that point on - Tone Zone, Gravity Storm, etc. - depending on the tone you seek. B/c of high output, those pickups will generally do split/parallel well.
