just installed a set of 59's in sg standard, sound great however bridge pickup tilts off level towards bridge by the time you adjust the height, had tp tape it off with electrical tape to level it off, anyone had this problem or know a fix?
thanks

Re: 59 in sg

Use the foam that comes in the pickup case (if u have it) and put a little underneath the pickup, you can usually balance it pretty good with that.

Re: 59 in sg

I actually preferred mine tilted that way because the bridge pup sounded too bright, and so the tilt angle actually backed away the polepieces from the strings a wee bit... c",)

Re: 59 in sg

Tilting is caused mainly by the hookwire. Just lay the wire in a coil and bring excessive length into the control cavity or cut it off. Also stronger or longer springs will help.

I've had to do the black tape thing before. But never in my SG. I have duncans in my SG, but I don't get that problem. Strange. . . .

That's what I do too. If you bought the pickup new and still have the sponge that was used as packing material in the plastic box cut a piece about the size of the pickup and put it in the pickup rout under the pickup. It should help keep it straight.
