59' Les Paul wiring

Hey, guys, I'm modding my LP studio from modern wiring to 59 style wiring.

I installed a kit from toneman.

I'm unable to find a proper diagram on the net, there are so many and they look all different.
The problem I've got is when selecting my bridge pickup (jb 4 wires) even if I roll down the volume I can hear it, only mutes the output when I roll down the tone too, however, the neck pickups works just fine. Anyone can provide me with a diagram or tell me what's wrong? thanks in advance

Well the kit does all the important connections.....if you bought the semi assembled one you linked.

But 50's wiring only has 1 (important) connection change from modern wiring - which is moving the tone circuit 1 lug over on the volume pot (from outer to middle)....thats it.
All you are doing is isolating the tone circuit from the pickup itself.

If you are not getting the JB to drop volume with the volume knob, you have either not grounded the pot properly, or cooked the pot during install. Can you post a nice (in focus) shot of the cavity showing the bridge circuit.

Your tones are the post with the center lug grounded against the case. Double check you have the right ones wired up

thank y'all for the help, contacted toneman and he provided me a wiring diagram, the volume pot was properly grounded, now works just fine and sound awesome, quite nice upgrade.

Glad you got it sorted.

There is a tradeoff with all of these passive wiring options. With modern you get volume position influencing tone, but with 50's you get the tone pot being more of an influence on volume once both are away from 10. There is an additional effect once both get down really low, in that you have almost an acoustic guitar effect.
