59 Neck in the Bridge Position?

I have a Double Fat Strat and I was thinking of trying this out. Anyone here put a neck PUP in the bridge position and like it...or not? It's alder/rosewood and the the PUP is a Duncan 59. The neck is also a 59n...I just don't like the Pearly Gates + in there.
Thanks all!

Been done many times, nothing radical. Original PAF's weren't wound for the bridge or neck, they just put them wherever. A neck PAF is going to be slightly brighter than a bridge PAF. How it works all depends on the wood's inherent tones and what you want. Try it.

Do it, but raise the bridge pickup close to the strings, and lower the neck. It'll help balance the two.

I used to have a 59n in my old Lp studio, We actually ended up putting a ceramic mag from a Duncan Distortion in it and wow did it smoke; Liked it more than the original Custom I had purchased for it.....

The '59n is a little brighter and weaker than a '59b. The '59n can be used very effectively in the bridge, but IMHO sounds best with an A8 mag to beef it up a bit in tone and output.

That sounds great! Thanks for sharing!

Thanks, glad you like it.

After years of using the JB,
I realized that the tone I heard in my head (and more suitable for the music I play)
is really just a lower output, PAF-ish humbucker.

I like the sound of the 59B, but since I already have a 59n,
I thought it might be worth it to try putting it in the bridge position,
first with 250k pots, and later also with an A2 mag.

Turns out I really like it.
