59 or JB with more Bass?

Hey guys...Is there anything similar to either a 59 or JB (bridge position) but with more bass? I've used 59 and also a JB in the bridge of my alder flying v but the low end just isn't there. The guitar itself is fairly light and airy sounding, which I like, but this leaves me with little low end and I end up having to adjust my amp settings.

I don't know what it would be if there is!

Maybe a Duncan Custom?

The 59B and JB seem to have plenty of bass in most guitars.

A TonePros bridge and tailpiece would improve the low end on your Flying V.

It's worth a try...

The Custom 5 is right in between those two, and has tighter low end than both.
It's also got the same fundamental sound, since it's an A5 Magnet.

If you like a JB, but want the mids focused toward the low mids rather than high mids, a CC would be a good choice. Those are my two favorite 'hard rock' bridge pickups.

I always thought the 59 had enough bass. But if you want a little more thump without a lot more attitude, I would go with the Custom. If you want that V to scream, I'd throw a Distortion in there.

A custom sounds more like what you want it has more lower mids, and not so much of an upper mid peak. If you want to stay in the A5 magnet zone i can only really suggest a dimarzio breed, Basically a Jb with more bass and thicker mids which i use in the bridge of my sg.

I'll have to checkout the Custom, I haven't used it before.

I do like the 59 in other guitars, and it does have plenty of low end and crunch for what I want, but the lows are lacking in the V.

I did have a Distortion in the bridge for awhile but I really didn't like it at all. It sounded mushy and undefined in this guitar. Basically what I'm looking for is something that gives a nice clear, crisp crunch, with a good low end that doesn't go over the top.

It must all be in the setup, because I've got a JB in my LPC and even with the amp bass setting on "3" with an open-backed cab the bass is just insane.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure it's the guitar itself. All my others sound good and balanced, but this sucker is pretty light :(
