Hey there,
I just picked up a Hamer studio custom today with a JB/59 set in it. I've already gone ahead and seen that people complaint of it being a very bright guitar, ice picky some say, etc... It was definitely very bright in the bridge, and very mellow/bassy in the neck. I have a 59b (A4) and a Phat Cat (A3/A5) in a les Paul that I'm not using much anymore, think this would be a good combo for this guitar? Regardless I know that I need a brighter neck pickup for the music I play, and would just prefer a more mellow toned bridge pickup.
I play at church every weekend with a pretty rockin band, and also do a handful of session work throughout the month, so versatility is preferred, including pickup splitting.
I'm open to any and all brands, pickup types.
Thanks!!
