?? 5ths? octaves?

i'm fiddling with this melody line the whole week and this is the best i could come up with =/ i fear my technical knowledge is pulling me down (well.. i KNOW this is the case)

just a quick recording with octaves.

apart of that, i'm in a total creativity hole ... i dont want to use the same drum pattern for the whole song (albeit i could fit/arrange the riffs around it, but i dont want to.. cos it has no variety and is boring to listen to the same **** over and over for 3+ minutes)
and i want to expand the song with more stuff (at least one bit with a solo) but i dont want it to sound forced

Pretty cool Davey! You seem to be harnessing the raw power of your floyd loaded Charvel. You should ask TO for a few tips since that sounds similar to his work.

If your still stuck, why not listen to a few bands/songs u like and borrow an idea here and there.

oh, i talk with ben daily.. but we usualy dont talk about music that much .. i do harras him with my clips occasionaly though lol
