With tube amps.... "Clean" is really a matter of opinion I don't consider my junior at 10 o clock clean by any means.

Odd. I find that my old ass valve junior combo does cleans pretty decently. But I never turn it up very loud. Its my bedroom practice amp and rarely goes past 10 o clock.
