'62 Fender Super? What the heck is this?

Anybody know anything about this amp? It's in a black tolex box that should be brown. Missing the bottem rear panel...that's the top panel in the bottem.
No cover on the filter caps! If you touch 'em it'll really hurt. Price is decent. What do you thinK? Is it a '62 Super in a cut down Super Reverb box or what?

Hmm the brown front looks real enough to me, maybe it got retolexed a long time ago along with the grillecloth maybe.
Defently looks rightBlackface/Brownface...hehe

Could it be some sort of fender kit?

Bear in mind that is purely guesswork as i really know nothing about this stuff

well, the guy selling has 0 feedback... he may not really have any clue himself. I dunno.... but the brown faceplate looks original.

According to the Fender Amp Field Guide, http://www.ampwares.com/ffg/index.html, it looks like a Super alright. But I'm not positive as the ebay Super description says it is a 5G4 type, where the ones listed at FFG are 6G4 models. They were made from 1960 - 1963. It looks like if the tolex was brown at one time, it's pretty weathered now but it does have a brown faceplate. If it is a Super, it has a 40 watt amp with 2-10" speakers, and came with vibrato.
Quite a classic.

I thought the Supers were one of the best amps Fender put out.
