So the particle board baffle of my Bassman 2x12 decided to take a **** and die on me (more on that later) so my dad and I made a new one. When we took the old one out and removed the grillcloth, we found two wooden slats covering what appeared to be a port in the baffle. At first, I thought they were guides for the center board. They still could be, but I'm not sure. It appeared as if the original grille had never been removed, so I'm guessing this is a factory job. Has anybody ever seen something like this?
We made a new baffle out of plywood and put the port on it, just because. I mean, my cab sounded beautiful with it in, so why not?
