6V6's JJ vs. Tung Sol

I just replaced the JJ 6V6's in my Princeton Reverb with the New Tung-Sol's. Most certainly a Improvement! I can't really say anything bad about the JJ's as they are a good solid tube, But the Tung -Sol's seem thicker in tone and have a nice creamy warm breakup. When I 1st got the amp(In 95') I put a set of JAN Phillips NOS 6V6's in (Cost $40 in 95') These Tung-Sol's blow them away. I don't remember the amp sounding so good.

I've been impressed with the new Tung Sol 5881's. I'm looking forward to trying the 6V6's now. Thanks for the review.

I'd like to Know how the Tung-Sol's stack up against your Brimar's? The Brimars are considered by most the top shelf NOS 6V6 available today.

Re: 6V6's JJ vs. Tung Sol

I'd be interested in trying the Tung Sols.
the JJs are great in a Deluxe Reverb, where they can hold up better than other tubes, but in other amps, I like regular 6V6s, which are a little softer and sweeter.
the Phillips are one of my least favorite NOS tubes. They're fairly plentiful, but I've never liked them. They lack character compared to other NOS brands, IMO.
