7-String Blackouts

Re: 7-String Blackouts

Hell Yes! I would like to know which guitar and what configuration! The Rhythm tone is perfectly defined!

Re: 7-String Blackouts

I was wondering about that myself. What kind of guitar/amp was used? If I ever get a 7 string guitar, it'll rock a set of white Blackouts. Or cream if possible. Are they available in that color Evan?

Re: 7-String Blackouts

Nice, chunky and heavy without being super-over-saturated. Cool riffs too!

Hey everyone,

This is Joe, guitarist for Red Sky Mourning.
Thanks to everyone for listening to the tracks!

For those who are interested, here is a link to some pics of the gear I used to record the songs:

(I tried to put a slide show in here but it won't work, so click the link above!)

The songs were recorded DIY style at my place in Akron, OH. Everything was through Presonus Firepods going into an old version of Cubase. Not many effects were used, and I tried to keep it more on the natural side (aside from the obviously triggered kick, but seriously...it's metal!) Only thing I did to the guitars was throw on a touch of the BBE Sonic Maximizer plug in which really brought the tracks to life.

Thanks again to everyone for listening! The songs are free, so if you like them, please make a copy for your friends or give them the link. Thanks also to the wonderful people at Seymour Duncan for making the best pickups!

P.S.: Props to sosomething - Josh (our singer) and I are huge craft brew lovers. STONE OAKED ARROGANT BASTARD is #2 on my all-time favorite beer list. I don't get to have it that often though. $16.99 for a six pack is a liiiitle pricy unless it's a special occasion :)

Re: 7-String Blackouts

Welcome to the SDUGF man! Thank you for giving us the details. I like your tone, and as a 7/8 string player, my main goal is clarity and saturation, which is not an easy goal!

Cheers!

Welcome to the forum!

You and your singer have good taste in beer!

Funny thing, how small the world is

I was born in Massillon, OH. Lived in Canton for a number of years before moving to Indy.

NE Ohio bros... heh

Nobody else understands the sheer genius of the drive-thru liquor store.

Do you know Krauss's Pizza? I think they had a location in Akron.

Re: 7-String Blackouts

No kidding!
I'm from Green, not too far from Canton. In fact I'm going there tonight to see my buddy's band play. I've never heard of Krauss's Pizza. You ever hear of Guiseppie's? Or Luigi's? Akron's the place for pizza, man! And on your way home, you'd better stop at the drive-thru and get some beer. I don't know what I'm gonna do when I go on my first tour!
