I'm looking at two different 7 tone strat wiring diagrams and was looking for some help finding the difference between the two diagrams.
Diagram 1:

Simple enough. The neck and output lugs of the input stage are connected to the switch.
Diagram 2:

The neck lug of the input stage and the bridge lug of the output stage are connected to the switch.
I really don't know how guitar circuits work. I can follow a diagram and work a soldering iron. Will these two diagrams effectively do the same thing? I'm looking for a "neck on" switch for my strat to add the neck pickup in positions 1 & 2.
