Ran across a set of these recently but I can quite literally find nothing out about them other than that they're ceramic.

Anyone know the specs on these guys?

Re: 70s Gibson Super Humbucker

These range from sounding like a real PAF and measuring around 7.50 Kohm (I have one on Ebay right now), aka good stuff, to 6 Kohm measuring pieces of junk that fall apart. Mid-70ties is bad, 1980 much better.

Some have very short legs (SG stuff).

Many thanks! I just bought them on a whim. They sound great. Very U2-ish humbucker sound.

were the ibanez "Super 70" humbuckers in the old destroyers a copy of the 70's Gibson super humbuckers?

No, the Super70ties, including the stuff I recently sold which might or might not have been Super70ties have real PAF construction with baseplate and a variety of Alnico magnets.

are you talking about the ibanez or the gibson ones?

Re: 70s Gibson Super Humbucker

Ibanez, the Super70ties are the PAF-likes with Alnico.

The Gibsons are "Superhumbuckers".

Re: 70s Gibson Super Humbucker

Supposedly, but I don't believe these things before I go through a magnet change.
