I traded for a Marshall Cabinet that is a 1982AP Cabinet with Checkerboard grillcloth. Supposed to be a 70's cabinet with a 120 watt round badge on back and G12H30's.
My question is that the checkerboard grillcloth is very light weight and loose, and also darker in color compared to my other older 70's Marshall Checkerboard Cabinet I've had for a long time.
Did Marshall make different weights/qualities/ shades of Checkerboard grillcloth, or did I end up with some replaced junk?
In fact, the whole cabinet is suspect, as it appears to have slighly loose sides(, although all the screws have been tightened down and diffferent insides that appear to have been monkeyed with.
See How much Darker and Flimsier the grillcloth is on the one I just traded for compared to my one Ive had with my Marshall head on top in the last picture? I know grillcloth can be turned darker by smoke , but that doesnt explain why it is so much thinner than the other earlier cabinet, unless Marshall made the later 70's Checkerbaord cabinets with lighter cheaper grillcloth , which is doubtfull I guess.
