:?: 70s Reissue Strat HELP!!!

I have a 70s reissue Strat and want to upgrade to some humbucker pickup for the bridge but can't seem to figure out what one would work best. I dont want any humm but need somthing that will work for heavier songs. I play music similiar to the Satch and Vai sound. The catch is I need somthing that fits in a single coil pickguard. The hotrail soundbyte sounded the closest on the site but I would think the Lil Demon would be good too..
Any help would be great.
I do use the neck pickup allot for lead and was thinking a hotrail for the bridge and the George Lynch Lil Demon for the neck..duno (I'm Lost)

I also would like the classic Strat sound in the middle pickup witch I would guess I could just leave the stock pickup there.

Update: This is what I would like in my configuration

Neck pickup: Clean and Bluesy w/or without distortion for lead
Middle: Clean Strat sound
Bridge: Distortion metal type sound

Thanks for any help :):?:

I'm not a fan of the Hot Rails. It doesn't get a good clean sound and is too muddy IMHO. A lot of the bros here love it though. I like the Cool Rails a lot though, and that would be what I would recommend for that kind of situation. The Lil Screamin Demon might be okay, but I don't have any experience with that pickup.

Sounds like that may be a good neck pickup from your discription. What position do you use it in? and what kinda sound do you get with distortion on it? I use a good distortion for rythm tracks but my lead is usuallt a lead distortion on the neck pickup to get that rich tone too.

thanks again

Re: :?: 70s Reissue Strat HELP!!!

I've installed in many customer's strats a Cool Rails in the neck, Vintage Rails in the mid, and a Hot Rails in the bridge. This set up can do everything from country to metal, blues, and everything you'd use an electric guitar for.

Duncan should sell this as a set. How about the "Swiss Army Strat Set"? :naughty:

That souds like a hot combo there. Since my style is about everywhere.
That's a great help Benjy_26

What should I expect for a price? installed? around $300?
Could you reccomend somwhere I could just order it all wired with switches and pickguard too?

Thanks much

No problem. :)

If you really want to get crazy with that set, get a trio of push/pull pots. Use one two do series/parallel switching on the CR, one for series/parallel switching on the HR, and one to witch on the neck pickup in combination with the bridge pickup or bridge and mid.
