72 thinline reissue potential modifications...

Re: 72 thinline reissue potential modifications...

I would probably be more inclined to drop money on a good set of WR repro's like Novak's than put a tremolo on it.

I don't know. I've used the Vibramates for all my guitars that have Bigsbys. It seems that the 72 reissue is the worst to put one on if you don't want it to look like hell. If you have gotten something like the 69 Reissue, then the have a vibramate for that, but I only used those because If I want to put the stopbar back on, then it's a simple fix. Let us know how it works out for you.

Re: 72 thinline reissue potential modifications...

looks like in general it will take some work, either on the end of filing (or drilling) down a bridge for the strings to go through, or drilling new holes in the body for a different bridge altogether (i've seen a lot of people using Mustang bridges with bigsby's). looks like i'll go with the 1st option in case i want to re sell.

Just out of curiosity. Is it a MIM or CIJ/MIJ?

If you do, get back to us on the results.

There options seem to be Novaks, Lollars, and The Creamery (UK). All seem to be very, very good. I am going with the latter soon.

Dude, definitely let us know how that works out! As soon as I can afford it, I'm planning to put one in the neck of my Tele. :fing2:

MIM model, my buddy bought it maybe 5 years ago, then we traded a few weeks ago

Sweet, seems like those MIMs are very good for their value!

thanks for all the help, I'll keep trying to find that space bridge assembly, seems the most promising one.
