I'm a big fan of EVH and play his famous stuff on my Charvel San Dimas (alder/maple/OFR/Dimarzio Illuminator neck, The Breed bridge, both with chrome bobbins) which is tuned to Eb. Is this custom shop pickup "EVH correct/vintage correct"? I may actually want to run this pickup with a Jazz neck in my custom Ibanez RG2820CT (mahogany body/maple top/rosewood/Edge Pro/Dimarzio Evo bridge, IBZ neck) tuned to E. How would this pickup perform for more modern sounding metal? I'm sure it'll be great for '80's hair metal, etc.

Cab: '93 Marshall JCM900 1936 Lead 212 (V30/T75)
Style: classic rock/metal to modern rock/metal - rhythm and lead player.
