78 Gibson Ripper pickups

I am interested in a set of Ripper pickups but saw a youtube video that said you only carry the earlier model pickups but that the later ones could still be repaired. Is that the case?

Hey man

I don’t know of any particular replacement pickups for that model but I know that the Seymour Duncan custom shop can repair or re-wind a pickup you send in.

I actually have a Japanese Grabber copy that I think I’ll get this done to. Maybe they can use the same housing but make it loud and punchy. Killer.

Yes, the Custom Shop does offer a Ripper model, but they can repair/build one to your specs, too. Those were interesting basses with a unique tone.
