questions pretty much in the title. i'm trying to copy A 79 strat with a floyd rose.

what would be the wood it was made out of.

next wood question, what is a Fender Strat '60's Hot Rod Reissue body from 1993 made out of, from japan.

and the last wood question... American Floyd Rose Fender Strat body from 1997, it's an american standard made in us.

any help will make me happy.

The body for a '79 Strat would be ash. I'm not a fan of modern Fenders so I can't answer the rest of your questions.

Late 70s fenders were made from ash, but that's not the whole story. Quality control was very poor during the mid-late 70s, and no effort was made to source the ash according to weight. As a result, some are featherlight, like my 76, but most are somewhere between heavy and backbreaking. These denser, heavier guitars tend to sound bright and nasty. I'd recommend lightweight swamp ash for your body.

The 1997 American Standard would be either ash or alder. I'm pretty sure Fender used both these woods in the American Standard line. Most likely,.....I'd say alder.

anybody know about the Fender Strat '60's Hot Rod Reissue body from 1993 made in japan.

that's the better looking body that i have found online between the two.

If its MIJ, chances are that it's basswood. That's not too bad, I like the sound of my Basswood MIJ 62 RI.
