7k reissue LP. Is it real rust?

It's important to have someone damage a guitar for you if you play guitar so rarely that you're not able to put your own wear into the instrument. I mean, how else would you do it . . . practice with the damned thing????

I think some of it is people do want a guitar that automatically looks like they played it hard. Other times you see something funky or cool hanging on the wall and it gets your attention before you know it is reliced or aged. That is if it is done well. When Fender did the Dream Factory line in 2012, I loved the 63 Strat they did that was supposed to have the appearance of being heavily played and modded over the years

How many professional musicians even have a guitar that is that beat up?

I just checked. Mine is close, but the A string doesn't touch the wraps around the E string tuner. Does yours?

Mine is no historic, but I can only see that causing problems, TBH. Do you not find that to be the case?

Mine looks like this. It's pretty much touching. I can't quite run my fingernail between the strings. But once it's in tune, it stays in tune, so it doesn't bother me.

Personally I think the whole "rellc'ing" thing is hilarious. Those guitars are as fake as Chibson's.

(And in the vast majority of cases..Chibson's are a hell of a lot more convincing)

I agree, 7K is ridiculous for a guitar, but those do look better in person. I hate to be the one who defends Gibson, but those are good guitars. Worth the money? I don't know. But if I had the money, I would pay for one without a doubt... and then mod it, LOL.

If you go for a "lightly aged" variant, those looks the best, IMO.

The reason the one in the first post looks kinda Chibson-y is that burst looks like shit. Looks too vibrant. Kinda like the 70's clown bursts or those horrible Epis from a few years ago. I personally hate cherry bursts, but those that are like really saturated orange-y red fading to really saturated yellow are the ones that I dislike the most.

I mean... some people also buy those multi-million dollar sports cars and then have them be fucking orange.

True, but it's not like finding the one Ferrari parked in the parking lot would be hard either, LOL.

They are so low to the ground, they disappear in a sea of cars. And if it was my Ferrari, the only acceptable colors are red, yellow, and black.
