805 hidden in the Palladium?

In all the time I've owned my Palladium, I've never noticed this in the manual before. Apparently an 805 clone is living in here. I need to RTFM more often.

Duncan does some interesting things with their pedals. As does Keeley. My TT-Mayhem has a boost stage that's switchable between +4db and +8db. Even I don't use +8.

I wish they hadn't discontinued that series. Fortunately, I snagged a Twin Tube Classic. Still one of my favorite pedals. A definite keeper.

I love my 805. I was experimenting with Klon types to see if they would knock it off my board, but believe or not, the Duncan was clearer-sounding.

I don't own a Palladium, so I never read the manual. But if you have an 805 on there, you're gonna love it.

"805-inspired" isn't very clear about what's going on.
But if the boost is like an 805 with gain at zero and tones set flat, it should be a cool one.

I do. It makes a great front end to my Line 6 Spyder Valve 112 / Bogner combo. The Palladium, (or Twin Tube Classic), replaces the whole Line 6 front end, giving me a pure analog combo amp. All tube with the TTC and tube power section with the Palladium.

I have spent some time with The Palladium but was unaware of this circuit, The pedal is a monster and incredibly flexible.

It probably should be more popular than it is.

I suspect that many people see it simply as another distortion/overdrive pedal, rather than the complete guitar front end that it is. Combine it with a power amp and cab, or a combo that has pre-out/pwr-in, and you have a new amp.

Combine it with a PowerStage 200, all in one box, and just use a passive speaker cab. It would be cool to have all of the amp controls by your feet.

That is exactly what I got from the Palladium. A forum bro generously lent me his for around a month. While I loved it I use my Chandler Tube Driver for the same functionality so I figured it would be a redundant piece of gear.

I've got several different ones. Each brings it's own flavor to the table. It's a somewhat inexpensive way to have a nice selection of amps.

i have the palladium and its cool, the boost is just a boost though. a clean boost with the only adjustment being how much boost. it also only works when the whole pedal is active, it cannot be used separately

Yes, but the 805 has B/M/T tone controls. I wonder if the other knobs, (on the Palladium), can be set to sound like the 805 with just it's tone and gain controls. Unfortunately, I don't have an 805 to experiment with.

i dont think so. i dont own an 805 but ive used one before. the palladium has much more gain on tap and even with the gain totally down, has a hotter sound. great eq control though!
