Are they any good? I can't find a damn thing online about them.

Stats of one I'm lookiing at: *Body:Solid Mahogany Body/Solid Maple Top.
*Neck:Straight/ Mohogany Neck.
*Finger Board:Rosewood.
*Fret and neck Condition:8.5+/10 point Straight
*Machine Head(peg):Grover Style.
*Pickups:F Dimarzio "DP155"/R Gibson PU.
*Control:2Volume 2Tone.
*Scale:24 3/4,22 Fret.
*Neck Joint:Deep joint neck.
*Serial:912354.
*Weight:3,9kg

It's dirt cheap so it seems to good to be true.

Play it, and if it feels right, go for it. Remember, very little crap comes out of Japan, so I wouldn't hesistate too much if I liked it.

Re: 90's Japanese Epiphones

The Japanese Epi's are from the same factory that had earlier produced the Orville by Gibson guitars which are great.

The same factory also curently produces the Epiphone "Elite" series which is really good as well.

But like was said, all guitars are different. There are sucky $2000 USA Gibsons, and great $200 mexican Strats.

Play the guitar first.
