Ended up going with the 10-watt Champ head kit...comes with tone and master volume option; decided on the 10 " Weber 10A125 speaker, and the Hammond 125CSE transformer. I'll build the cab myself....ordered the corner protectors and handle from Mojo (no, not THAT Mojo).

Thanks for the input. I'll repost once the kit gets here and is assembled (assuming it works!).

Yep. I'm pretty excited about getting the kit. I need to run out to Home Depot this week and get some pine for the combo cabinet I need to build. It shouldn't be too difficult but I'm planning on staining the wood (instead of using tolex).
