A/B/Y switch?

i would hope this is an easy question.who makes a good a/b/y switch? nothing fancy.i'm more about quality. my guitarist said to check out Morleys? is there anything i should stay away from ? as always all feedback/responses are appreciated.thanx.

I have a Morley, which is fine.

The Framtone also has a phase reversal switch.

whirlwind makes a decent unit, optically coupled to eliminate the POP when switching between a/b channels.

to jumper channels, they should be in phase, but some circuits aren't

65 Amps recommends the Framtone switcher for those who want to jumper the channels on their amps, since they're out of phase

I can't vouch for these personally, but when I was looking for switches, this guy was really helpful and he got good references here.

I bought a good A/B/Y switch and hated the extra noise..... something to do with the grounds on the 2 amps.... to get rid of this noise some people remove the 3rd ground plug from one amp.... this makes me nervous and i would never do it myself.. I know many say it's safe but i'm not sure about it....

But i have heard there is some good switching units out there for switching between 2 amps.. I have heard that there is some noise free a/b units now but have not tried them myself....

I bought an HS2 from www.axess-electronics.com because it works wonders and all i wanted was to be able to switch between a 5150 head and a Classic 50 head-(C50 is my clean channel) Both heads go into one 5150 cab and it is one amazing set up!

It's "safe" but if you accidentally pull the instrument cord out of the amp with the ground plug removed, you could get ANNIHILATED. If you want a cheap, no-frills a/b/y switch, you could build one with 2 dpdt switches , 3 output jacks, some wire and an enclosure. It could be done very cheaply.

The Tonebone JX-2 Switchbone isn't cheap, but it does the job as advertised. Amp switchers aren't a good place to economize when all is said and done.

I personally use an RFX ABY32 switcher, simple 4 jacks, A/B, 2 common, this means you can use 1 guitar & switch between amps or have two guitars into one amp (probably not as useful) and the last one is a constant out. I use mine out to a tuner.
