A Battle of Tubescreamers...

Re: A Battle of Tubescreamers...

Great video Doc. And as Gearjonser said its great to hear someone play these well. Out of the three I liked the one all the way over to the left(not sure of the name). The only comment I have is Never ever wear socks with sandals!!:1::1: great job

Re: A Battle of Tubescreamers...

I'm not a pedal kind of guy although I've owned a lot of them. But TGWIF gave me his place on Mike's list when he got to top so I bought one. It's the absolute best overdrive pedal I've ever owned and I like it so much I put my first pedal board together! You need one. It's about a two year wait. Lew
Hi Lew,

No, I have not tried/used KOT long enough to form a solid opinion... 3 or 4 years ago I kinda tried to get into his list, but then gave up... People had to wait like 15 months or more in that list. And naturally the second hand prices were quite high.

I trust your judgement... And now am wondering how much they for you know...

Re: A Battle of Tubescreamers...

WOW ... killer tone on that one, too! I currently have 2 overdrives: BB Preamp (love it) and Green Rhino (hate it); I may have to get one of these!

Glad you like it. I think it is quite a good TS you know... And sometimes they go for cheap you know, not that in fashion anymore...

I forgot them you know... Then while watching the vid for the first time, I see them on the screen and started :cussing:

Cool...

Very Cool!

Christian is the man.

Two years is a very long wait. And the thing is that, I think he intentionally is keeping it that way. I mean Mike... It is his choice, of course, but frankly speaking I kinda don't like it, at all... I love my fuzz and chorus from him, yet ...

Anyways, it's all cool. And the guy knows how to do pedals right... That's for sure.

Re: A Battle of Tubescreamers...

The battle rages on!

:)

This time it is XTS Atomic Overdrive versus MJM Phantom...

Hope you like it...

Sorry for the cam... Gotta get me a new one. Yet, I end up buying pedals, trannies for amps and all... :) Still the sound should be ok.

And it may be a good idea to remind you guys of the following... (that is, MJM Phantom in the TS808 mode is sort of a dead on clone of an old TS808... which may provide some perspective when evaluating XTS Atomic Overdrive)

Thanks...

:)

MJM is advertised as being a spot on clone of them old TS808's, when the switch is to the left (around the beginning of the vid). So them other TS808's, of course, maybe a bit different, but they should sound not that far off you know.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for the shout out, Doc.

Re: A Battle of Tubescreamers...

XTS Atomic versus Xotic BB Andy Timmons with a strat and Blues Jr. for medium gainey tones...
