A couple of pics of my latest projects

Got a few guitars as build projects. I've been having fun with new things on these....like learning aniline dye techniques, staining the grain filler and using an air spray gun for the first time. Luckily the weather has cooled off a bit and has become perfect for spraying.

I've got 2 guitars.....a strat which will be a very subtle relic (maybe just a bit of checking and not a 100% shiny finish). I'm basing this one off a 54-57 era strat, with bakelite plastics and BKP apache's to go in it. Just got to do the actual burst on the front and the clear.

Second project is a 'Red Special Jaguar'. This has 3 burns trisonic pickups, with some of the switching of the Red special and some of the Jag. Once again I've got it to the point where the burst part needs doing.

Yep. Trying to get a bit of the warmer tone that the Red Special has (that one is chambered of course).

This is the approx mockup. Bridge needs a couple of parts and trem area needs some minor routing work to fit (why is nothing ever compatible:smack:)

Everything you see has had to be specially made/adapted. There are NO aftermarket lefty parts for Jag's it seems, despite the Cobain Sig model. Of course the pickguard had to be made specially as the trisonics aren't a typical pickup choice.
The control plates are wood, flipped and painted. Of course as they are the 'underside' they were chipped and without screw bevels too. Did a lot of work to get them even to the state they're in now.

That Jag is going to be killer.

Yeah, Tri-Sonics are bigger than a Strat pu. Which ones did you use? Kent? Burns BM Sig. set? You can get Strat pu sized ones from Burns now, but I don't know how good they are.
