A Different Way To Do Cocked Wah Tone

Experimented with this last night with excellent results... although you'll need a 4-holer Marshall or similar.

Typically doing the cocked wah tone, the wah is too pronounced/strong.

The solution is to blend (using 4-holer Marshall here for example):

- plug guitar into upper left jack (bright channel hi)
- run cable from lower left jack (bright channel lo) to wah input
- run cable from wah output to upper right jack (normal channel hi)

Volume I (bright ch) is your guitar, and Volume II (normal ch) is your wah effect.

Blend in wah effect to achieve desired tonal result.

This can be done with other effects BTW, for example delay.

i used to do that with reverb on my tweed amps. guitar into bright 1, bright 2->reverb->normal 1. bright channel gives dry volume, normal gives reverb. it works well but most of the time live, it was more hassle than it was worth

Cool. But what's the hassle with 2 short cables (and maybe AC adapter if not using batteries) to go to the stompbox sitting on top of your amp?

You could buy an Electro Harmonix Cock Fight pedal...........or not.

i was using a fender tube reverb unit but for someone that is used to guitar-cable-amp, anything beyond that is a hassle :D

Hey LLL, are looking for a Mick Ronson type vibe? just curious about the sound you are looking for?

More Schenker bros (Michael, Rudolf) and Jabs... (Scorpions).

Blended in has it's own thing tone-wise and is a cool different way to mid-boost.

Great post given my latest adventure . See my custom Bridge pickup thread in pickup lounge.
I was wondering how he was able to get a lower rhythm volume besides that he uses the volume a lot.
I have the Dunlop CFH and I can not get close to a tone I like with it. If I can figure how to use the carbon copy it might help.

I use a Bugera V22 on the clean channel and boost it . The SD1 gives pretty good lead tone.

^^And why buy a distortion pedal when slashing your cones will do the same thing?
