a few effects pedals...

OK. My ME-50 seems to be destroying my tone, and at high gain it adds a lot more noise. I really don't need all the effects either. So I'm going to sell it. The effects that I actually need are a volume pedal, delay, and phaser. After some research, I've come to these three.

I think I want a linear taper volume pedal, because I can't stand the jump from the softest position that I've found on most pedals. This seems to be the most reliable one I've found.

From all the reviews, seems to be a very versitile, quality phaser.

And, of course, Boss. Analog delays are a bit too pricey and limited for me, so I think this is one of the best digital delay boxes out there.

Any comments or suggestions?

I dont know about the volume. However, even though I have no experience with that phaser the Digitech pedals seem very nice and versatile. For the delay I would check out the Digitech delay for $99 and the Ibanez DE-7 $59.

Re: a few effects pedals...

For that price, I'd invest in an Ernie Ball volume.

Don't know anything about Phase.

DigiTech DigiDelay or Ibanez DE-7. I don't think the DD-6 is well regarded, but I could ask some of my shoegaze friends and confirm their opinion of it for you?

The DigiDelay has some nice options plus 4 seconds of delay plus tap tempo and loop functions.

Re: a few effects pedals...

I love the DigiDelay. One of the most used effects in my rig (right behind my Muff!)

The Digitech Phaser is quite good as well. I'm partial to the trippier settings (step functions and whatnot) but the classics are easy to access as well.

The only thing to watch is the battery consumption. The X-Series pedals eat up 9 volts like nobody's business. Invest in a good power supply and you'll be set.

Ok, thanks guys. Very helpful. Also shows what you get when you forget to check all the stores in your research :smack:. The digitech delay and ernie ball volume pedal do seem to be better, the price evens out too. Any other suggestions?

Also, looking at pedalboards and power supplies.

Some guys I know use these and are happy with them. They'll build just about anything you want.

Personally, I'd just buy some wood and velco and glue it together. Spending $100 or more on $10 worth of wood, $3 worth of carpet, $5 worth of velcro, and $1.50 worth of screws just seems like a waste to me.

I built this for under $50CAD, so probably about $33USD.
