Hello, do you guys know what would make a GREAT combination in the neck with the Duncan Distortion (DD) in the bridge??? Also, what single-coil would complement the neck and bridge very well, I'm trying to go for a versatile sound, since I just don't want to be "metal-to-the-pedal" all of the time  :saeek:??? Basically, what I'm trying to say is what neck humbucker and middle single-coil will go best with a Duncan Distortion in the bridge??? :) :smack: :burnout:

Neck Hum: '59, JB, any of the Custom series...

You really gotta specify your guitar... because the wood and that makes all the difference to what pickup you should choose.

As for middle, go for Hot Rails (very metal) or Cool Rails (vintage hummer). You could try a Lil '59 or a JbJr... again this comes down to your guitar...

:P

it's a charvel if my memory serves me correctly.

i think a cool rails for the middle position would work great in that guitar, and a 59's humbucker for the neck position. the 59 is a great neck pickup, some people find it boomy but it takes some eq'ing to get it right.

or for an ultimately versatile combo, you can try a true single coil tone for the middle. like an SSL-1 or something like that.

Re: A good match with the Duncan Distortion???

I'd use a Duncan Distortion neck model in the neck and a JB jr(n) in the middle.

Roberts the man.

Re: A good match with the Duncan Distortion???

how about the distortion neck model, would balance nicely but thats if you want an all out aggressive gat

Re: A good match with the Duncan Distortion???

Don't get a 59n if you want it to match nicely. I like my 59, no doubt, but it doesn't match the DD at all. Way thicker and bassier

Re: A good match with the Duncan Distortion???

Hey guys, my guitar is a Jackson PS-4 from the Performer series. I'm not sure if the body is alder or poplar, though. :) :smack:

Re: A good match with the Duncan Distortion???

Sometimes though, I'm not sure whether I should get a Custom-5 or a Distortion in the bridge :yell: :blackeye: . Also, more suggestions are welcomed (not just the DD in the bridge) for the bridge, middle, and neck pick-ups!!! :newangel:  :burnout: :13:
