Im looking for a really good neck humbucker pickup to accomodate a Duncan Distortion in the bridge and a Duncan Hot Rails in the middle. I just cant think of what to get. I've searched the forums but I cant seem to get a good answer. I need something that is very good for fast runs on the lower strings and good for sweep picking. I liked my duncan hot rails when it was in the neck but im looking for something a big similiar maybe in the neck in humbucker size. thanks for any help. the neck pickup is very important to me thats why im trying to get the best support. I like to go clean with my pickup to alot. Cause i love the clean sound on the neck. thanks for any help.

Wait, are you looking for a single coil size or HB size in the neck?

Re: A good shred neck pickup

The Jazz cleans up nicely

Re: A good shred neck pickup

I'd say the Jazz... designed for fast, clean runs, very articulate, retains definition when distorted.

+1 to PAP Pro. A little boomy at times and I kinda have a love/hate relationship with it. It really rewards articulate fingers. Air norton is another good choice.

Re: A good shred neck pickup

PAF PRO, SD JAZZ, AIR NORTON, VIRTUAL PAF NECK or BRIDGE MODEL
hmmm you could try the 59, I wouldnt bet on it though

Re: A good shred neck pickup

Another vote here for the Jazz. The Jazz also splits nice, giving a very nice
gooey SC sound in the neck. Add distortion and you can get a little bit
of a Scott Henderson thing. I don't know if you have auto splitting in
the 2 and 4 positions, but they would sound great with those fat pickups.

Re: A good shred neck pickup

FullShred neck IS FOR shredding. It's the clearest pickup I ever heard in the bridge position at least. I don't see how you can go wrong with it. You may want to split it if it's too powerful sometimes.
