A little JP

JeffB

Let it B
sittin around on the night I'm SUPPOSED to be celebrating my B-day (yes, I'm moping, so deal :D) felt that the title of this song was appropriate to how I was feeling, LOL. It's really just the intro...too bad I can't doubletrack.

Hamer w/ 59s
POD XTL. 2203 Marshall, 75 watt Celestions. Atomic reactor. Laptop mic sittin near the speaker (it's a little Bassy/Muddy, sorry)

Excuse the f-ups.

Honestly, I don't even know the beginning chords anymore...I forgot/lost so much when I stopped playing for about 9 years...

Happy Birthday, bro. :beerchug: :beerchug:

That clip is great. The intro trills are awesome. :fing2: I absolutely love the tone you get out of that setup. It definitely sounds like the Standard has a bit of influence in the sound.

That Hamer thread is killing me. Man, there's lots of nice ones in there.

Thank You. I've been Di$%ing around with it all day wth a bit of volume to it, and yes I finally think I've got some great sounds (to my ears anyway)...even with the 59s. I'm finally getting that marshall raw crunchy sound, and I think the key was to drop the 25 watt greenbacks in the patch, and go with the 75 Watt celestions...then I pulled back the mids and highs...I got it crunchier/clearer and less boomy (but good chunk still) than this clip. Through the Rivera and such the 59s are real twangy, but not with the POD XTL/Atomic... they are dang near perfect? I finally hit a point where I said to myself "YES, *THIS* IS THE TONE I WANT". If the Plexi-tone Rivera combo doesnt work out, I'm just gonna keep this setup for awhile. The Hamer is doing exactly what I wanted...tonally combining the best attributes from my Firebird and Paula...crunchy, thick and raw on chord work but sings on leads without sounding compressed.

Re: A little JP

Thanks for the B-day well wishes :)

and dont mind at all Chris..but...

how do i do it?

:laugh2:

if you mean the Atomic clips, keep in mind that thing def warms up the tone, and adds alot of low end...it sounds like a 4x12...and then I beefed the whole thing up w/ the parametric...lemme know how though, and I'll get 'em to you tomorrow evenin...I'm nursin a couple popped discs tonite

Re: A little JP

Happy Birthday :) That's a killer intro and you get some nice heavy tones on the power chords there bro.

Re: A little JP

Thanks Rid. Thanks Steve! :)

I'll try and get up some plexi-tone clips this weekend..as well as some of the new re-tweaked patch with Celestion 75s in the POD/ATomic...VERY crunchy :D
