A little premature, but what's new

So it looks like I'm getting a carvin dc727 later today which will be here in a few days if everything goes to plan. The guy is including some dimarzios that he never got around to putting in, I believe a blaze bridge and maybe norton neck. I've heard that the dc727 will accept dimarzios in a stock route with a little grinding on the pup tabs and base plate. What about duncans, particularly blackouts? This is a duncan site, so naturally, I'd love to put in some duncans if possible. I do not want to molest the guitar by routing it out. If dimarzios are my only option, I'll sucumb to the dark side, but I'd like some other options.

As far as what sound I'm looking for; it's gonna be a metal axe for low tuned stuff, probly around A. I'd like a nice tight sound with good clarity under heavy gain. It's a mahogany neck and body with a maple top, ebony board, and stainless frets, so it's gonna be a little bright.

Help a brother out, I'm clueless on sevenstring pups other than emgs and blackouts.

Every pickup I have tried in my carvin has fit right in, Duncan or otherwise. You can always get the dimensions off the Duncan site and measure you guitar when you get it.

What carvin do you own and when was it made? IIRC, the pup routes changed recently.
